Isaiah 26:3 "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee:
because He trusteth in Thee."
As you start a new day, where is your mind? Is it going to a hundred different places,
scheduling, planning, fretting, worrying? Or, are you beginning your day with your
mind focused on the Lord? How our day unfolds depends on how it begins! God
has promised His perfect peace to those whose minds are stayed (focused) on Him.
We don't know what today will hold for each of us. Some of us will have a good day.
Others will be facing trials and hardships. One sweet lady I know is starting another
round of chemo today. There might be some reading this that are in the midst of
heartache over children who are not walking with the Lord. Perhaps there are those
in the depths of sorrow and grief. Maybe financial problems have worn you down.
Whatever our day holds for us, God has promised His peace.
Psalms 121 is my favorite Psalm. I have clung to the promises contained in these
verses many times over the years.
"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help
cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy
foot to be moved; He that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, He that
keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is thy keeper: the
LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day,
nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: He shall
preserve thy soul. the LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in
from this time forth, and even for evermore."
I encourage you today to lift up your eyes to your help, let your mind be stayed on
your Savior. Allow the Lord God Almighty to bathe you in His divine peace and
comfort today!
