Minute Musings...When Love Was Born

I would like to thank all who check in each day, you are an encouragement to me!  I'm
going to be taking the rest of December off.  I would like to take this opportunity to
remind you to keep Christ in Christmas, after all, He IS the reason for the season!  From
my house to yours, I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a joyous and peaceful New
Year!

Luke 2:11 - 20  "For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Savior, which
is Christ the Lord.  And this shall be a sign unto you;  Ye shall find the babe wrapped
in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.  And suddenly there was with the angel, a
multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace, good will toward men.  and it came to pass, as the angels were
gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go
even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath
made known unto us.  And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and
the babe lying in a manger.  And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the
saying which was told them concerning this child.  And all they that heard it wondered
at those things which were told them by the shepherds.  But, Mary kept all these things
and pondered them in her heart.  And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising
God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them."

Minute Musings...Fine Dining

I don't have much opportunity to enjoy "Fine Dining," however since my move to live with
my son and daughter-in-law, they have taken me out a couple of times to restaurants that
would fall into this category.  The food is the highest quality, tastes delicious, and the whole
dining experience was delightful.  In contrast...MacDonald's.  Well, the food is somewhat
greasy, and while tasting good, you know that you are eating food that will raise your blood
sugars, and leave you with many unwanted calories.  And, eating in a crowded, noisy booth,
or your car, doesn't have the same ambiance as a fine restaurant would give you!  Given the
choice, I'm sure I know which dining experience you would probably choose.

Song Of Solomon 2:4  "He brought me to the banqueting house, and His banner over
me was love."

How many of us choose spiritual fast food to spiritual fine dining?  God has prepared for
us the finest of His bounty to enjoy, yet we again and again turn to the world, and eat the
rot from its dung hills.  The world offers the believer nothing that will make us spiritually
strong.  When we feast from the offerings of the world, we will become weak and fruitless
Christians.  We will become like the prodigal son we read about in Luke 15:16 - 17  "And
he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat:  and no man
gave unto him.  And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of
my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger."

The Heavenly Father's table has plenty for all!  How dare we turn our backs on the good
that the Father has provided for us, thinking that the world can offer better!  Luke 15:20,
"And he arose, and came to his father.  But when he was yet a great way off, his father
saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him."  His
father was watching for him!

Jesus provides everything we need to be spiritually strong!  We read in John chapter 6
and verse 35, "And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life:  he that cometh to
Me shall never hunger:  and he that believeth on me shall never thirst."  Why do we
repeatedly return to the world to try and satisfy ourselves?  When we are dining on the
"bread of life" we shall never hunger!  Jesus completely satisfies.

Our Heavenly Father is watching for us today.  Waiting for us to grow tired of the garbage
we are feasting on, ready to welcome us home.  Stop eating the fast food of this world, and
return to the banqueting house of your Heavenly Father, He has a heavenly feast waiting
for you!  Psalms 19:7 - 11  "The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul:  the
testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.  The statues of the LORD are
right, rejoicing the heart:  the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the
eyes.  The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever:  the judgments of the LORD
are true and righteous altogether.  More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than
much fine gold:  sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.  Moreover by them is
thy servant warned:  and in keeping of them there is great reward."

Come And Dine

Jesus has a table spread, where the saints of God are fed,
He invites His chosen people, "Come and dine;"
With His manna He doth feed, and supplies our every need,
Oh, 'tis sweet to sup with Jesus all the time!

The disciples came to land, thus obeying Christ command,
For the Master called to them, "Come and dine."
There they found their hearts desire, bread and fish upon the fire;
Thus He satisfies the hungry every time.

Soon the Lamb will take His bride, to be ever at His side,
All the host of Heaven will assembled be;
Oh, 'twill be a glorious sight, all the saints in spotless white,
And with Jesus they will feast eternally!

"Come and dine," the Master calleth, "Come and dine."
You may feast at Jesus' table all the time.
He Who fed the multitude, turned the water into wine,
To the hungry calleth now, "Come and dine."
