A Channel Of Blessing

Do you ever sometimes get that feeling that someone is watching you?  You kind of give a
start and then look around wondering who is it.  It gives you kind of an uneasy feeling for
a second or two, and your mind starts scrambling, trying to remember what it was that you
were just doing!

Well, we are being watched all the time, but its not by man, it's by God!

Job 34:21  "For His eyes are upon the ways of man, and He seeth all his goings."

You would think that with knowing that God see's all, there would be a drastic change
of behavior in mankind.  Unfortunately, that is not the case.  Even with Christians
there is that lack of understanding that God sees all we do, and what's more, He knows
all we think, for He sees the heart of man as well.

There is a childrens chorus entitled, "O Be Careful."  Each verse tells of something
we need to be careful doing;  O be careful little eyes what you see;  O be careful
little feet where you go;  O be careful little hands what you do;  O be careful little
mouth what you say.  It ends with. "For there's a Father up above, Who is looking
down in love, so be careful little...what you do."  It is just a simple little chorus but
it holds a wealth of truth.  Are we being careful?

1.  Our eyes

2 Corinthians 4:18  "While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the
things which are not seen:  for the things which are seen are temporal;  but the
things which are not seen are eternal."

What do you focus on every day?  Are you looking at problems?  Are your eyes focused
on the past and regrets?  Maybe all you see are the mountains in front of you, filled
with the fear of the unknown.  We are instructed not to look at these things, they will
pass away and count for nothing.  We are to focus our eyes on things which are eternal.
When the cares of life come crashing down around you, turn your eyes to the promises
of God.  When our eyes are properly focused on the things of God, they will also be
properly focused on others and their needs.  God can then use us to minister more
effectively to others.

Titus 2:12 & 13  "Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we
should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;  looking for
that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior
Jesus Christ."

2.  Our feet

Proverbs 3:5 & 6  "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart:  and lean not unto
thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall
direct thy paths."

Where we allow our feet to take us stems from what we are giving place to in our
hearts.  If we are allowing ourselves to be influenced by Satan and the pitfalls of
this world, our feet will soon follow.  People want the Lord to direct their paths,
but they forget that this is twofold...they have to acknowledge Him in all their ways!
The problem today is that people want to live for themselves, they want to do what
they want, then they blame God for not directing them...I'm sorry, but it doesn't
work like that!  Trust Him, lean on Him, acknowledge Him...then He will direct
your paths.  You will be surprised the avenues of service your consecrated path
will take you!

Psalms 37:23  "The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD:  and he
delighted in His way."

3.  Our hands

Ecclesiastes 9:10  "Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might;
for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave,
whither thou goest."

Our hands can be the messengers of comfort, hope, help, nurture, care and charity.
But they can also be the deliverer of corruption, deceit, mischief and murder.  The
one who controls our hearts will be the one who controls our hands.  We lift up or
pound down through our actions.  Everyday you should place your hands in God's
hands to be used of Him.  Letting the world feel the Saviors love through our touch
is what will please the Lord.

Colossians 3:23  "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not
unto men;"

4.  Our mouth

Luke 6:45  "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth
that which is good;  and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart
bringeth forth that which is evil:  for of the abundance of the heart his mouth
speaketh."

I know that I've mentioned this before, but it is something so important that it bears
constant reminders.  Your heart can't keep a secret!  We think sometimes that we can
hide things away in our hearts and no one will find out...but they will, your mouth
will tell on you!  Whatever is in your heart will make itself manifest through your
speech, you cannot think one way and speak another.  As the old saying goes, "The
truth will come out in the wash!"  You see, it all ties together;  what you focus on,
where you go, what you do, all influence what will reside in your heart, and what's in
your heart will flow from your mouth!

Psalms 19:14  "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart, be
acceptable in Thy sight, O LORD, my strength and my redeemer."

We will give an account to God one day for everything that we do.  Remember He
is watching, we can't hide what we do from Him.

Romans 14:12  "So then, every one of us shall give account of himself to God."

When we stand before the Lord on that day of account, let us not stand there ashamed
for the way that we failed Him.  Surrender each new day to Him;  Let Him work in and
through us to the dying world around.  Surrender your eyes, feet, hands and mouth, be a
channel of blessing to all you come into contact with.

How I praise Thee, precious Savior,
That Thy love laid hold of me;
Thou hast saved and cleansed and filled me,
That I might Thy channel be.

Emptied that Thou shouldest fill me,
A clean vessel in Thy hand,
With no power but as Thou givest,
Graciously with each command.

Jesus, fill now with Thy Spirit,
Hearts that full surrender know;
That the streams of living water,
From our inner man may flow.

Channels only, blessed Master,
But will all Thy wondrous power.
Flowing through us, Thou canst use us,
Every day and every hour.
