Life Insurance

In the last couple of weeks since my husband passed away I've filled out more forms and signed more papers then you can shake a stick at!  Forms for the government, for this place and that place, for the insurance companies...red tape everywhere!  I hate muddling through all these forms, there seems to be no end to them.  As I was printing off yet another form from another company today it got me thinking about life insurance plans.  We put so much stock in having the proper coverage in case of death, and rightly so;  but do we think about our spiritual lives, do we make the proper plans that protect our spiritual future?

We make sure that our funerals are planned out and will be paid for, the caskets, burial plots, the headstone.  All this planning is for what....a dead body.  What thought goes into our afterlife?  A lot of people think that once you are dead and buried that's all there is.  Well, I have news for you...that's just the beginning.  You see life on this earth is just preparing us for eternity.  Its the launching pad for eternal life.  You have your earthly things in order, what about the eternal things?

Who is the holder of your eternal life insurance policy, The Lord or Satan?  Have you read the policy, do you know what each offers?

Heaven's Insurance Policy:

1 Thessalonians 4:13 - 17  "But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him.  For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent (proceed) them which are asleep (dead).  For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:  and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:  and so shall we ever be with the Lord."

Hell's Insurance Policy:

Revelation 20:10 - 15  "And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.  And I saw a great white throne, and Him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away:  and there was found no place for them.  And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God:  and the books were opened and another book was opened, which is the book of life:  and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.  And the sea gave up the dead which were in it;  and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them:  and they were judged every man according to their works.  And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire.  This is the second death.  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."

People in this day and age do not want to admit that hell is real, but it is.  Matthew 25:41  "...Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels."  They say that the only heaven we will ever experience is here on earth!  I don't believe that, and the Bible doesn't teach that...2 Corinthians 5:8  "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord."

John 14:1-3  "Let not your heart be troubled:  ye believe in God, believe also in me.  In my Father's house are many mansions:  if it were not so, I would have told you.  I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself;  that where I am, there ye may be also."

Does this sound like death is the end, that there is no heaven!  My Heavenly Father is preparing a place for me...He's getting ready for me to come home.  I find that exciting.

They say that a God of love wouldn't send people to hell... well He doesn't.  God doesn't send anyone anywhere, we decide.  We either accept God or reject Him, we make the decision and the consequence of that decision lies with us and us alone.  John 3:16  "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."  Don't blame God for people's wrong choices!  Isaiah 48:22 says this, "There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked."  But for those who CHOSE to believe in God it says in Isaiah 55:12  "For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace:"
Well, I don't know about you, but I think anyone with any kind of intelligence would want peace.  The Lord of Peace is the giver of peace.  That's the life insurance policy that I want.

Hours and hours are put into choosing just the right life insurance policy with the best payout when you die.  Don't you think that eternity deserves some consideration?  The best part about it is that, unlike earthy insurance plans which we have to pay into for years, eternity's "insurance" is already paid for!  There is no payment that you have to make!

Romans 3:23 & 24  "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God:  Being justified FREELY by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus."

Satan takes and the Lord gives...you decide which spiritual insurance plan you'd rather have.  For me the choice is clear, blessed be the Lord Jesus Christ!  What's your future looking like?

When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound and time shall be no more,
And the morning breaks eternal, bright, and fair;
When the saved of earth shall gather over on the other shore,
And the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there.

On that bright and cloudless morning when the dead in Christ shall rise,
And the glory of His resurrection share;
When His chosen ones shall gather to their home beyond the skies,
And the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there.

Let us labor for the Master from the dawn till setting sun,
Let us talk of all His wondrous love and care;
Then when all of life is over, and our work on earth is done,
And the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there.

When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder I'll be there!
