Minute Musings...Reach For The Rock

I've been sitting here looking at an empty screen, praying that the Lord would show me what
to write.  These are the verses that kept coming to mind,  Psalms 9:9 & 10  "The LORD also
will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.  And they that know Thy
name will put their trust in Thee:  for Thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek
Thee."

There are some special promises contained in these two verses;  first the Lord will be our
refuge, and secondly, He has not forsaken those that seek Him.  Sometimes in the midst of
trials and adversity, it's easy to succumb to the thinking that God must have forgotten about
us.  But the reality is that our loving Heavenly Father is right beside us, guiding us through
the troubles!  The secret is to remember to seek Him in these times.  He will impart the peace
that we so desperately need at those moments when the devil would have us believe that God
doesn't care.  Look at this verse once again, the Lord does not forsake those that seek Him!

Jeremiah 29:13  "And ye shall seek Me, and find me, when ye shall search for Me with
all your heart."

Have you ever been out in a sudden downpour and you quickly try to find some place to wait
out the storm?  Our God is that refuge in the storm, that place of safety and peace, where we
can wait out the oppression that would try to beat us down.  Psalms 27:5  "For in the time of
trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion:  in the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide
me;  He shall set me up upon a rock."

There is no safer place to be in the storms of life than upon the rock, Christ Jesus.  Upon
this Rock, we are secure, safe from the enemy.

Are you floundering in the storm?  Reach for that Rock, the Lord Jesus Christ.  Let Him
hide you, shelter you and protect you!  There is no need to be out in the storm!
